PACK RANKS
Alpha male and female: These are the two wolves, (usually mates) who lead their pack equally. They make the final decisions with the help (if they want) of the Betas, and all of the other pack members must listen to them without question. They can order even he closest wolves to kill each other if they see it fit, and they must obey or face the consequences. They have complete control over their pack, and they are required to post at least four days a week. If they can't, a temporary arrangement can be made.
Beta male and female: The Beta Male and Female are the two wolves who will become the alpha male and female when the current Alphas retire, die or disappear. They help with decision making, and are respected almost as much as the pack Alphas. They are also able to choose any wolf except for a puppy that they would like for a mate, a rare and precious privilege. They can go on hunting expeditions, patrols, etc. if they would like.
Delta male: This is the wolf who is training to become the Beta Male when the current Beta Male dies, retires or moves up in rank. She is basically the Beta Male's Apprentice.
Delta female: This is the wolf who is training to become the Beta Female when the current Beta Female dies, retires or moves up in rank. She is basically the Beta Female's Apprentice.
Sentinels: The Sentinels are the wolves who patrol the territory borders every day, and are the first in line of defense against unwanted visitors. Also the ones who lead welcomed visitors to the camp. They also mark the borders so that it is clear that their pack lives there and them alone.
Elders: These are the wolves who are retired from their old duties, due to old age and/or very serious injuries. They are usually wise and well respected, and the third to be fed.
Hunters: These are the wolves who hunt for the pack, usually a group of about six wolves at a time who venture out of the camp to hunt prey like elk and rabbits.
Shaman: The Shaman is the main medicine wolf, who heals wounds and has knowledge of almost all plants in the territory. They also are the ones who give wisdom, and have spiritual connections so that they can speak to the Spiritwolves and seek limited information and guidance from them.
Healers: The healers are the wolves who have some medicinal knowledge, kind of like the Shaman's apprentice. But they have any spiritual connections, they just help the Shaman.
Scouts: The Scouts are the wolves who do not fight, but warn the packs of danger they also travel to other packs and warn them too if necessary, and they are also messengers who send messages from the pack Alphas to other packs. They are very brave.
Warriors: Warriors are like the camp guards. They guard he camp, and are the second and most important line of defense after the Sentinels. They are also the first line of defense in battles, and they will take over another wolf's fight if one of the Alphas request them to. They must take turns keeping watch all night too.
Pupsitters: Pupsitters are the wolves whose duty it is to watch over and protect puppies that are still in the "Puppy's Den". They must perform their duty of guarding the puppies from all harm carefully and accurately, for the penalty for making a mistake in this rank is the wolf accused being cast out by the pack.
Apprentices: These are the wolves in training for a rank. This is the rank you get if you don't request a rank, and your history says you are not the pup of an unwanted wolf. They will train for twelve months in game time, in a rank that they choose. You cannot choose to be the apprentice of a higher ranking wolf unless the apprenticeship is approved by a staff member. They must always obey their betters and especially alphas and Mentors.
Puppies: These are the wolves who were born into a pack, and are still being nursed in the "Puppy's Den" and being watched by pupsitters when their mothers are away. They leave the den when they are eight months old in game time, which is two game time months after they are born, which, for the user playing the puppy, is six months.
Omegas: The lowest ranking wolves in the pack. Usually if you don't want duties, this is the rank you get. But also, the omega is the last to be fed, so usually have the best chance of dying, and are basically slaves to all other wolves in their pack. They are also sometimes the children of traitors, prisoners, wolves from another pack, and dishonored wolves.
